Nintendo je tako osvojio 6 Gamescom nagrada od kojih 5 priipada igri Super Mario Odyssey, a jedna Metroid: Samus Returns. Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, Sony, Bandai Namco, i Activision Blizzard su osvojili “samo” po dvije nagrade. Navodno se tome ne treba čuditi jer su redovi u kojima se čekalo na red za igranje novog Maria bili golemi, odnosno interes za igru je nadmašio sve ostalo. Zbog toga glavna Best Of Gamescom nagrada za 2017. godinu ide upravo igri Super Mario Odyssey.
